Pharmacies across the island to be kept open daily

All pharmacies across the country, except high risk areas, are to remain open daily.

The Prime Minister?s Office said the decision was drawn by the Presidential Task Force on Essential Services.

Thereby, pharmacies across the island, except high risk areas, are to remain open daily from 09.00 a.m. to 05.00 p.m.

Pharmacies in high risk areas, which includes Colombo, will be able to take orders over the phone or online and deliver.

The Presidential Task Force on Essential Services believes this will enable the smooth supply of medicines to the public, despite the islandwide Police curfew being in effect due to the spread of COVID-19 in Sri Lanka. (Colombo Gazette)

India seeks release of fishermen, boats in Sri Lanka

India has sought the release of Indian fishermen and boats currently in the custody of Sri Lanka. The matter had been discussed during a meeting between Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Sri Lankan Minister of Foreign Relations Dinesh Gunawardena. Gunawardena, who is on a visit to India, held bilateral talks with Jaishankar today.
