Number of coronavirus patients rises

Two more patients infected with COVID-19 were detected in Sri Lanka today, taking the total number of infected patients to 188.

The Ministry of Health said 140 patients, among the infected, have been identified as active cases.

Meanwhile, 228 persons are under observation in various hospitals on suspicion of having contracted the virus.

The Ministry of Health said 42 patients, including 41 Sri Lankans and one Chinese woman, have recovered so far and have been discharged from hospital.

Six deaths due to COVID-19 have been reported so far in Sri Lanka. (Colombo Gazette)
