President Gotabaya Rajapaksa briefed Samagi Jana Balawegaya leader Sajith Premadasa today on the steps taken by the Government in the fight against the coronavirus.
Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, former Minister Basil Rajapaksa and several other Government Ministers also attended the discussion.
The President informed Premadasa that immediate steps had been taken to prevent the virus from entering Sri Lanka as soon as the World Health Organisation (WHO) issued an alert.
He said that the Government was able to control the spread of the virus as a result of the immediate steps taken, including closing schools and universities. (Colombo Gazette)
