Indigenous medicine being studied to fight coronavirus

Indigenous medicine is being studied to fight the coronavirus, Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva said today.

He said that a discussion was held with indigenous medical practitioners and Minister of Health and Indigenous Medicine Pavithra Wanniarachchi.

The discussion took place at the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) in Rajagiriya.

Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva said that Ayurveda medicine and other indigenous medicine is being studied to fight the coronavirus.

He said that over 50 indigenous medical practitioners attended the discussion and some proposals have already been made. (Colombo Gazette)

Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva has yet to demonstrate any competence away from the battlefield where brave men and women displayed great courage, and made him look like a great military tactician. Let’s hope for the nations sake he has not been given a position way beyond his level of competence.
