Prime Minister takes part in home garden challenge

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa took part in a home garden challenge which promotes a more sustainable lifestyle.

Former Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa said that the initiative was launched to promote a more sustainable and self-sufficient future where the people are not defined by circumstances beyond their control.

“Shiranthi & I are excited to take part in the #HomeGardenChallenge.?While the #CoronavirusPandemic has devastated the world, it has also taught us the need to adopt a more sustainable lifestyle for our future generations. I encourage everyone to be more involved,” Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa tweeted after taking part in the initiative today.

Grade 05 Scholarship and Advanced Level exams to be postponed

The Grade 05 Scholarship and the GCE Advanced Level examinations which were to be held in November, will likely be postponed. State Minister Susil Premajayantha told Parliament that the new dates for the two exams will be announced later. Former Education Minister Professor G.L. Train services to resume from October 15

Train services will resume from October 15, the Railway Department said today. While the country reopened on 1st October following weeks of curfew public transport was yet to return back to normal. The Railways Department said that it is awaiting recommendations from the Health Ministry to resume operations. The Department said that it expects a set of guidelines to be issued to resume operations on 15th October. (Colombo Gazette)
