In its milestone 25th year of operation, leading insurer, Janashakthi Insurance PLC recorded an impressive growth of 30% in first-year premiums for the financial year of 2019, with Gross Written Premiums (GWP) of LKR. 3.5 billion. This commendable growth can be attributed to the renewed singular focus on Life Insurance, which the Company embarked on in a strategic step in 2018.
The Company’s post-tax profits stood at LKR. 398 million for the period ended 31st December 2019. Janashakthi Life’s Investment income was at LKR. 1,643 million at the end of the period under review, recording a growth of 8% year on year. Janashakthi Life’s Net Claims and Benefits grew by 18% year on year, from LKR. 1,510 million to LKR. 1,924.
