The Police have arrested 1264 suspects for violating the islandwide Police curfew within the last 24 hours ending at 06.00 a.m. today.
An islandwide Police curfew has been in effect since 20 March, due to the COVID-19 outbreak in Sri Lanka.
The Police said 325 vehicles were also seized during this period.
Meanwhile, a total of 10, 730 suspects have been arrested since the implementation of the Police curfew on 20 March.
The Police said a total of 2657 vehicles were also seized during this period.
Suspects arrested for drug offences will be produced in court and remanded, while suspects arrested for violating the curfew will be granted Police bail or remanded, they added. (Colombo Gazette)
