Number of coronavirus patients increases

The number of patients infected with COVID-19 in Sri Lanka rose to 146 as of 5.00 p.m. today.

The Ministry of Health said three more patients were detected with the virus from Maradana, Jaffna and Kurunegala.

A total of 126 individuals, among the infected patients, have been identified as active cases.

The Ministry of Health said that 231 individuals are currently receiving treatment at a number of hospitals on suspicion of having contracted the virus.

Two deaths, one each from Marawila and Negombo, have so far been reported due to the coronavirus in Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile 2 more coronavirus patients were discharged from hospital after complete recovery today.

The Ministry of Health said that 18 persons, including 17 Sri Lankan and one Chinese woman, have so far recovered and have been discharged from hospitals. (Colombo Gazette)

Another 75 people detected with Omicron in Sri Lanka

Another 75 people have been detected with the Omicron Covid variant in Sri Lanka.
