Two more patients who had contracted the coronavirus in Sri Lanka were discharged from hospital today.
The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health said the patients were discharged from the National Institute of Infectious Diseases (IDH) in Angoda and the Colombo East Base Hospital in Mulleriyawa.
The patients were discharged after multiple tests were carried out to ascertain their complete recovery, the Epidemiology Unit said.
A total of 16 patients, 15 Sri Lankans and a Chinese woman, have recovered so far and have been discharged from hospitals.
Meanwhile, 122 patients have been confirmed to have contracted the coronavirus in Sri Lanka.
The Epidemiology Unit said 104 patients, among the confirmed cases, have been reported as active cases.
Two deaths have been reported so far due to the virus, with the victims being identified as residents of Marawila and Negombo.
A total of 173 patients are receiving treatment at hospitals across the country on suspicion of having contracted the virus. (Colombo Gazette)
