Another group of individuals from overseas, who were placed in quarantine centres due to the Covid- 19 outbreak in Sri Lanka, left for home this morning.
Military Spokesman Brigadier Chandana Wickremesingeh told Colombo Gazette that the group had left from the Punani, Periyakadu and Puravasakulam quarantine centres today.
Six foreign nationals, 2 from Puravasakulam and 4 from Periyakadu, were among the individuals who left the quarantine centres, he said.
Brigadier Wickremesinghe said that the group had left the quarantine centres following the successful completion of their 14- day quarantine period.
A number of persons who had arrived from overseas and had undergone a 2- week quarantine period have been sent home in batches from 24 March till today.
Meanwhile, Brigadier Wickremesinghe has urged the public to adhere to the instructions issued by the health authorities and practice social distancing for the betterment of the society and the country.
He added that it was the personal responsibility of all citizens of the country to safeguard and minimise the spread of the coronavirus in Sri Lanka. (Colombo Gazette)
