More Chinese nationals arrested in Sri Lanka over online scam

More Chinese nationals have been arrested in Sri Lanka over an online financial scam, the Police said. According to the Police, a group of 20 Chinese nationals were arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID). The Chinese were arrested from a hotel in Panadura and over 400 mobile phones, over 300 USB cables and several routers and laptops were also seized. Earlier, the Police arrested 30 Chinese nationals in Hanwella on Sunday and on Monday the Police arrested 19 Chinese in Nawal

Controversial State Intelligence Service Director Suresh Sallay replaced

The Controversial Director of the State Intelligence Service (SIS), Suresh Sallay, has been replaced. According to reports, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Dhammika Kumara has been appointed as the new Director of the SIS. Suresh Sallay has reportedly retired from service. He was accused of having a hand in the Easter Sunday attacks, an allegation he denies. (Colombo Gazette)
