Another patient recovers from virus

One more patient who had contracted the coronavirus in Sri Lanka has recovered and was discharged from the National Institute of Infectious Diseases (IDH) in Angoda today.

The Ministry of Health said the individual was discharged after multiple tests were carried out to ascertain complete recovery.

A total of 10 individuals, including nine Sri Lankans and a Chinese woman, have recovered and have been discharged so far.

The Ministry of Health says 115 persons have been confirmed to have contracted the coronavirus in Sri Lanka, with 104 active cases.

The first death due to coronavirus in Sri Lanka was reported yesterday, with the diseased being identified as a 60- year old diabetic patient from Marawila.

Meanwhile, 117 persons are currently admitted to hospitals across the country on suspicion of having contracted the virus. (Colombo Gazette)

Over 2300 people arrested for violating quarantine curfew

Over 2300 people have been arrested for violating the quarantine curfew, the Police said today. France wants to be involved in development of Hambantota Port
