The 2nd batch of people who underwent a 14- day quarantine period at the Kandakadu and Punani quarantine centres due to the coronavirus outbreak in Sri Lanka left for home today.
Military Spokesman Brigadier Chandana Wickremesinghe told Colombo Gazette that 201 persons, 57 from Punani and 144 from Kandakadu, left at 8.45 a.m.
A group of 311 persons from the Kandakadu and Punani quarantine centres left for home yesterday as well, he said.
Brigadier Chandana Wickremesinghe said a total of 3029 persons are currently placed in 46 quarantine centres across the country.
He added that those who show symptoms of any form of sickness prior to leaving the quarantine centre after completing 14- days, will be kept back for further monitoring of their health. (Colombo Gazette)
