Curfew in Colombo to be reimposed at 2 pm

The curfew which was lifted in the Colombo, Gampaha and Puttalam districts and the Northern Province at 6am today, will be reimposed at 2pm today.

The curfew was to be reimposed at 12 noon today but the President’s Media Division said the curfew will now be reimposed at 2pm.

The curfew has been imposed to contain the spread of the coronavirus.

Meanwhile, the Police urged all shop owners? to peacefully serve every customer who queues up, irrespective of the curfew.

The request was made under the directives of the Acting Inspector General of Police to avoid panic buying among the general public during non-curfew hours. (Colombo Gazette)
