Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has called for a party leaders meeting tomorrow (24).
The meeting is scheduled to take place at 10.00 a.m. at Temple Trees.
Meanwhile, sources from the United National Party (UNP) told Colombo Gazette that UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe will attend the party leaders meeting.
On Tuesday (17), former Speaker of Parliament Karu Jayasuriya requested Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa to call for an all party meeting.
Jayasuriya had told Colombo Gazette that members of political parties had urged him to request the PM to call for an all party meeting, as they were confused with regard to the preparations for the general election due to the coronavirus outbreak in the country.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa had responded saying he will call for an all party meeting after the conclusion of the acceptance of nominations for the General Election on 19 March. (Colombo Gazette)
