The Police curfew currently in effect in the Colombo, Gampaha, and Puttalam Districts, and five districts in the Northern Province will be temporarily lifted at 06.00 a.m. tomorrow (24) and reimposed at 12.00 noon as opposed to 2 PM as announced yesterday.
The Police curfew will thereafter be in effect till 06.00 a.m. on Friday (27), and will be reimposed at 12.00 noon the same day, the President’s Media Division (PMD) said.
Issuing a press release the PMD said the Police curfew in the other districts will be in effect till 06.00 am on Thursday (26) and will be reimposed again at 12.00 noon the same day.
Transportation within all districts and sightseeing tours for foreign nationals have been completely banned.
The President’s Media Division said farmers have been permitted to continue work within the districts during curfew hours.
It added that transportation of essential goods, such as rice and vegetables, have been permitted during the Police curfew. (Colombo Gazette)
