Weerawansa and NFF decide not to contest Parliament polls

Former MP Wimal Weerawansa and the National Freedom Front (NFF) have decided not to contest the Parliament election. Issuing a statement, Weerawansa said that there is an attempt by the opposition to make President Anura Kumara Dissanayake the next Gotabaya Rajapaksa. Resolution on Sri Lanka passed by consensus at UNHRC

The resolution was passed without a vote after multiple countries, including Sri Lanka, made comments on the text.
