AG returns more incomplete files on Easter probe

Attorney General (AG) Dappula de Livera today returned 18 incomplete files to Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) C. D. Wickremeratne pertaining to the suspects arrested over the Easter Sunday terror attacks that occurred on 21 April 2019. Court permits Pillayan to attend inaugural Parliament session

The Batticaloa High Court today granted permission for former LTTE fighter and leader of the Tamil Makkal Viduthalai Pullikal (TMVP) Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan alias Pillayan to attend the inaugural sitting of the 09th Parliament. Electricity supply disrupted around the island

The electricity supply was disrupted in the entire country today. The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) said the power disruption was due to a technical failure in Kerawalapitiya. A technical issue at the Kerawalapitiya Grid Sub-Station was identified as the main cause for the power failure. The CEB said steps had been taken to restore the electricity supply in stages around the country. (Colombo Gazette)
