Boy dies after jumping off Central Bank building

A 16 – year old boy has died after jumping off the Central Bank Head Office Building in Colombo, Fort this evening.

The Police said the boy, a son of a senior Central Bank employee, had jumped off the 6th floor of the building.

The Police said that the boy is a resident of Malabe and he is believed to have committed suicide.

A Magisterial inquiry was conduced at the site and the body was later taken to the Colombo National hospital mortuary.

The Police said investigations have been launched to ascertain the cause for his actions. (Colombo Gazette)

Special COVID operation in Western Province including at 12 exit points

By Easwaran Rutnam A special COVID operation was launched today (28) in the Western Province, including at 12 exit points. Police Spokesman, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Ajith Rohana said that rapid antigen tests and PCR tests will be conducted during the operation. The Police had earlier announced that rapid antigen tests and PCR tests will be conducted at 11 exit points in the Western Province.
