A man and his sister were found hacked to death in the Galle area, the Police said. The Police said that a 75 year old man and his 65 year old sister were found dead in Hapugala. Investigations have been launched. (Colombo Gazette)

Udayanga insists property in Sri Lanka legally purchased

Sri Lanka?s former Ambassador to Russia, Udayanga Weeratunga insists property owned by him in Sri Lanka had been legally purchased. The Fort Magistrate had yesterday issued an order against the sale or transfer of any land belonging to Weeratunga. Order issued against sale or transfer of Udayanga’s property

The Fort Magistrate has issued an order against the sale or transfer of any land belonging to Sri Lanka’s former Ambassador to Russia, Udayanga Weeratunga. A warrant was issued on Udayanga Weeratunga last year over ongoing investigations into the controversial MiG deal. Udayanga Weeratunga claims he is in Ukraine and has refused to support any investigations against him. (Colombo Gazette)
