Office assistants and drivers to be made permanent

The Ministry of Public Administration has decided to make permanent, office assistants and drivers recruited for State Institutions.

The office assistance and drivers recruited under contract and temporary basis are to be considered, the Ministry said.?

It added that those evaluated must have completed 180 days of employment. (Colombo Gazette)

CCD granted permission to question remanded IGP on accident

CID to record statements from Hakeem, Rishad on Easter attacks

The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) hopes to record statements from former Ministers Rishad Bathiudeen and Rauff Hakeem over the Easter Sunday attacks. The Colombo Additional Magistrate was informed today that the CID has also sought to record statements from former President Maithripala Sirisena, former Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and Speaker Karu Jayasuriya.
