The Government has assured employment for over 50,000 unemployed graduates.
Minister of Education and Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs Dullas Alahapperuma said that employment opportunities will be provided for over 50,000 unemployment graduates by March this year.
The Minister gave the assurance at a media conference today.
He said that political affiliations will not be looked at when offering employment to the unemployed graduates.
The Minister said that over 50,000 graduates are without employment and so the President and Prime Minister have advised that the issue be looked into urgently.
“The President said not to look at what race or religion they belong to and to give them employment soon,” Alahapperuma said.
The Minister claimed that the former Government had given priority to only select individuals when providing employment. (Colombo Gazette)
