Sri Lanka Rupee depreciates against USD

The Sri Lankan Rupee depreciated further against the US Dollar today. The Central Bank of Sri Lanka said the selling rate of the US Dollar closed at Rs.191.99. The Sri Lanka Rupee depreciated for 4 consecutive days last week from 17- 20 March. (Colombo Gazette)

Hotlines introduced to lodge complaints

The Government has introduced hotlines to report any violation of orders and instructions issued related to the coronavirus. The President’s Media Division said that the hotlines will operate?24 hours of the day. The hotlines are 0114 35 45 50, ?0114 35 46 55 and 0112 35 43 54

Concessions offered to ships, traders at port

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has instructed the Sri Lanka Ports Authority to provide necessary facilities to vessels that enter Sri Lankan ports during the islandwide Police curfew currently in effect due to the Covid-19 outbreak in the country. The President?s Media Division (PMD) said the Sri Lanka Ports Authority thereby has exempted delay charges and access tariff to all vessels entering Sri Lankan ports, while more relief measures are to be provided to ensure continuous port operations.
