United National Party (UNP) stalwart MP John Amaratunga has been urged to continue in politics, the Colombo Gazette learns.
Speaking to the Colombo Gazette, MP Amaratunga said that he was contemplating retirement but has been pressured by his fellow UNPers to remain in politics.
“I am contemplating stepping down from politics but there is a lot of pressure from the Party for me not to quit,” Amaratunga said.
However, the MP said that he has not yet taken a final decision on his political future. (Colombo Gazette)
