Committee of experts to review amended scope of Port City

A committee of experts is to be appointed to review the amended scope of the Colombo Port City, the Government said today.

In 2014, Colombo Port-City Development Project was commenced by Sri Lanka Ports Authority with CHEC Port City Colombo (Pvt) Ltd, as a Private Sector Investment.

After 08.01.2015 the original scope of the project was changed as ?Colombo Financial City? and a bill has been prepared under the directions of legal draftsman and assistance of the external consultants to set up special economic zone ?Colombo Financial City?.

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a proposal presented by Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa to appoint a committee of experts in the respective fields to review the amended scope of the project and procedure used to revise the project. (Colombo Gazette)

Partners in unity Government confirm they have not divorced

The two main partners in the?unity Government confirmed today they have not divorced. The United National Party (UNP) and the United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) informed Parliament that the agreement reached between both sides in 2015 is still valid.
