Cabinet not briefed on alleged plot to assassinate President

The cabinet has not been briefed on an alleged plot to assassinate President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, cabinet spokesman Bandula Gunawardena said today.

Speaking to reporters at the post cabinet press conference today Gunawardena said that the Police are investigating the alleged plot.

However he said that the cabinet has not been briefed on the details over the alleged plot.

It was reported that the Police had arrested at least one suspect who was involved in the plot to assassinate the President or a member of his family. (Colombo Gazette)
