The Marine Police of the Coastal Security Group in India have seized a Sri Lankan fibreglass fishing boat which was found washed ashore along the Othathalai coast near Dhanushkodi today (Monday), The Hindu newspaper reported. On being alerted by local people, a Marine Police team, led by Inspector Rajarajan, seized the boat and brought it to Rameswaram Marine Police station. Report on fuel crisis handed over to President Sirisena

The committee appointed to look into the recent fuel crisis submitted its report to President Maithripala Sirisena today. President Maithripala Sirisena had appointed the committee when the fuel issue turned into a crisis last week. A shortage of fuel turned into a crisis with fuel sheds running out of petrol for days. Examinations chief transferred to assist ongoing probe

The Commissioner General of Examinations W M N J Pushpakumara has been transferred to the Ministry of Education, with immediate effect, the Education Ministry said. The transfer was reportedly carried out to assist an ongoing investigation into allegations of?misconduct. Earlier the head of the Confidential and Agency Examinations Division of the Department of Examinations had been suspended over the allegations. (Colombo Gazette)
