Air quality over Colombo to improve over next few days

The air quality over Colombo is expected to improve over the next few days, the Environmental Studies and Services Division of the National Building Research Organization (NBRO) said today.

Air quality index level around Colombo over the 24 hours ending at 6am today was unhealthy for sensitive groups.

However, according to forecasts, the air quality will be at moderate levels today (28th) as well as on the 29th and 30th November 2019.

However, these forecast levels are subjected to the weather conditions and wind profile of the country.

Covid booster administered at CMC centers today

The Covid booster (4th dose) is being administered at Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) vaccination centers today. Colombo Regional Epidemiologist Dr. Dinu Guruge said that those above the age of 20 can get the booster. “If you?re above 20y, you can get your 4th COVID-19 vaccine after 3 months from your last jab,” she tweeted today. India sends 2,000 MT wheat to Afghanistan via Attari-Wagah border

Another consignment of 2,000 metric tons of wheat as humanitarian assistance from the government of India was dispatched for Afghanistan via the Attari-Wagah border on Monday.
