Minister of Information assures no move to suppress media

The Minister of Information and Communications Technology and Technology and Innovations Bandula Gunawardane today assured that there was no attempt to supress the media.

Gunawardane also called on the media to work with the Government to establish a new media culture.

Minister Gunawardane expressed these views after he?assumed duties as the Minister of Information and Communications Technology and Technology and Innovations at the Media Ministry today.

President regrets Singapore’s silence on Mahendran issue

President Maithripala Sirisena today said that he regrets the failure by the Singapore Government to make a formal statement on the issue surrounding Sri Lanka seeking the arrest of former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran.
