President refuses to submit to pressure from NGOs

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa today insisted that he will not submit to pressure from Non Governmental Organisations (NGO).

Rajapaksa told monks at the Bellanwila Rajamaha Viharaya temple that he has been given a mandate by the people and he will work according to that mandate.

He said that he was elected for a purpose and he needs to ensure that the people get what they wanted.

The President slammed the investigations conducted by some Criminal Investigations Department officers claiming they conducted investigations to fall in line with the expectations of some NGOs. (Colombo Gazette)

  2. We are good listeners you know. So, spit it all out, don’t hold anything back and let the ‘Sinhalese Buddhist’ fools know who you really are. Sri Lankan monks have lost their place among the international Buddhist community already. No wonder they need people of you and your brothers calibre to survive. Find out who the people behind the ‘Buddhist Society of Ceylon’ are and you’ll know what ‘Buddha Dharma’ is all about.
