Parliamentarian Prasanna Ranatunga was appointed as the Minister of Tourism in the interim cabinet today.
Ranatunga took oaths before President Gotabaya Rajapaksa at the Presidential Secretariat.
Ranatunga was appointed as the Minister of Industrial Exports and Investment Promotions, Tourism and Aviation.
Tourism is the biggest foreign exchange earner for Sri Lanka but the industry took a hit following the Easter Sunday attacks.
The new Minister will be tasked with reviving the industry over the next few months. (Colombo Gazette)
