Sirikotha accused of closing gates on Sajith

Defeated United National Party (UNP) Presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa had allegedly been prohibited from using the UNP Party headquarters at Sirikotha to meet his supporters.

As a result, Premadasa was compelled to meet with his supporters at a campaign office at Vauxhall street instead of Sirikotha.

This was revealed by UNP MP Dr Harsha De Silva.

“Emotional scenes at Vauxhall Street as thousands arrive to express their solidarity with Sajith Premadasa. UNP General Secretary Akila Viraj should have just let Sajith thank the 5.5m citizens of Sri Lanka who voted for him from Sirikotha.” ?UNP Dr Harsha De Silva said in a tweet.?

The UNP has however denied the allegations.
