The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) insisted today that it will not interfere with the judicial process related to ongoing investigations.
SLPP spokesman Dullas Alahapperuma said that the new Government will not seek to throw anyone behind bars without following the due process.
He said that the United National Front Government had influenced the authorities to arrest certain individuals and politicians over bogus allegations.
Parliamentarian Udaya Gammanpila said that the judicial process will be allowed to take its course.
Meanwhile, the SLPP also said that military officers arrested over false claims will be released through the legal process.
