Incidents of election violence and election law violations have been reported over the past two days.
Local election monitors reported incidents of fake ballot papers being found in a van in Hambantota.
In another incident, the Centre for Monitoring Election Violence (CMEV) received reports of violence at the Nillamba estate in Galaha, Kandy today.
CMEV said that a group of unidentified persons threatened estate residents not to vote, attacked one house with a petrol bomb and attempted to bomb another house.
Meanwhile, the CMEV said it also continues to monitor an incident where a petrol bomb was thrown at the house of a New Democratic Front supporter on 10 November in Vakarai, Batticaloa.
The attack had reportedly been carried out by suspected Tamil Mallal Vidyadalay Pulikal (TMVP) supporters. A complaint has been registered with the Valaichchenai Police.
