Period to issue temporary ID ends

The period for requesting temporary Identification Documents has ended.

Temporary Identity Documents were being issued for the purpose of the upcoming elections to be used by those who are missing a valid form of identification.

The temporary Identification Documents will be issued on security paper and will include an individual?s photograph as well as other crucial information included in an ordinary NIC.

Dinesh gets Champika Ranawaka’s Ministry

Parliamentarian Dinesh Gunawardena was today appointed as the new?Minister of Megapolis and Western Development by President Maithripala Sirisena. The Ministry was earlier held by Champika Ranawaka. Last week Ranawaka went to the Ministry and sat in his office saying the new Government was not legal and so he was still the Minister. (Colombo Gazette)
