Animal sacrifice row again in Sri Lanka

A Sri Lankan Minister, who in March this year threatened to break the limbs of journalists who went abroad and spoke ill of Sri Lanka, is in the news again: this time, he wants to stop an animal sacrifice ritual in a Hindu temple, for a second time in two years. Maheswaran’s killer sentenced to death

The main suspect in the?assassination?of UNP MP T.?Maheswaran was today sentenced to death by the Colombo High Court. Sri Lanka and India hold military discussions

Sri Lanka and India held military level discussions on Tuesday in order to strengthen ties between the armies of both countries, the Sri Lanka army media unit said. The India-Sri Lanka Army to Army Staff Talks (AAST) was attended by an Indian delegation including Major General Gurdeep Singh of the Indian army and Colonel Vivek Tyagi, the Director of Military Training of the Indian Army.
