Central Bank issues new rules for receipt of export proceeds into Sri Lanka

The Central Bank of Sri Lanka has issued new rules for the receipt of export proceeds into Sri Lanka. Accordingly, local suppliers who receive payments in foreign currency out of the export proceeds must mandatorily convert the residual of such receipts into Sri Lanka Rupees. Uproar in Parliament for second day on Basil’s absence

There was an uproar in Parliament today for a second day on the absence of Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa to make a statement on the economic crisis facing the country. Government misleads public on power cuts

The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) announced today that scheduled power cuts will be enforced tomorrow (Monday).
