New Democratic Front Presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa today released his election manifesto in Kandy by handing over the first copies to the Chief Prelates (Mahanayake Theros).
Several UNP Parliamentarians accompanied Premadasa as he handed over the manifesto to the Chief Prelates.
Responding to questions posed to him by the Chief Prelates, Premadasa said that he will review all bilateral agreements once he assumes duties as the new President.
He said that he is not bound by any agreement signed before 16 November.
Premadasa said that if he feels any agreement is a threat to Sri Lanka’s sovereignty he will look to amend those agreements.
The manifesto was later launched at an event at the Queen’s Hotel in Kandy with the participation of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and the party leaders of the United National Front.
The manifesto assures devolution of powers to the provinces, a foreign policy where relations with all countries will be respected and a consistent trade policy.
The manifesto also promises strengthening the economy, digitization of the public service and a rapid infrastructure development program.
