Ranil says he will be PM under Sajith’s Presidency

United National Front leader Ranil Wickremesinghe says he will be Prime Minister in a future Government with Sajith Premadasa as President.

At a special media briefing today, Wickremesinghe said that the United National Front has achieved a lot over the past 4-5 years and the process to develop the country will continue under a new Government.

Asked who the Prime Minister will be to take the process forward, Wickremesinghe said that he will be the Prime Minister and Sajith Premadasa the President.

Premadasa is contesting the Presidential election next month but so far he has refused to say who will be the Prime Minister after the election in a new Government.

Premadasa has maintained that he has not agreed to any conditions in order to be nominated as the Presidential candidate of the UNP-led New Democratic Front. (Colombo Gazette)

Rock ‘n’ roll pioneer Little Richard dies aged 87

Pioneering rock ‘n’ roll singer Little Richard has died at the age of 87, the musician’s family has confirmed. Little Richard’s hit Good Golly Miss Molly made the charts in 1958.
