The?United Nations has been urged to assist Sri Lankan refugees in Tamil Nadu to return home. The UN Resident Coordinator in Sri Lanka Hanaa Singer called on the Governor of the Northern Province Dr. Suren Raghavan at his office in Jaffna, the Governor’s office said today. Three Iranian Navy ships arrive in Sri Lanka

Three Iranian Navy ships, Bushehr, Lavan and Bayandore arrived at the port of Colombo on a training and goodwill visit. The Sri Lanka Navy welcomed the trio of ships in compliance with naval traditions on their arrival. World Bank South Asia VP holds talks with President

The World Bank Vice President for South Asia, Hartwing Schafer had talks with President Maithripala Sirisena at the President?s Official Residence in Colombo. Secretary to the President Udaya Seneviratne, World Bank Resident Representative, President?s Economic Advisor Dr Sarath Rajapathirana and NEC Secretary General Prof Lalith Samarakoon were also present at the talks.
