SLPP assures security for Muslims under Gotabaya

The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) today assured Muslims in the country and their businesses will be given full security under a Government led by Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

The Rajapaksa Government had been accused in the past of instigating attacks on Muslims.

SLPP National Organiser Basil Rajapaksa told a group of Muslims today that false claims are being made that Muslims will not support SLPP Presidential candidate Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

Basil Rajapaksa said that Muslims are spread around the country, in every district, even in? areas where there are a majority if Sinhalese or Tamils.

He said that the Muslim community contribute immensely to strengthen the local economy.

As a result, he says the Muslim community cannot be sidelined while developing the country.

He said that while there are shortcomings in every Government, nothing can compare to the shortcomings of the current regime.

State Minister Ranjan sits for the A/L exam

State Minister Ranjan Ramanayake sat for the Advanced Level examination today. The Minister sat for the exam at the Kotte Ananda Balika Vidyalaya this morning. Speaking to the media the State Minister said that if he fails the exam he will sit for it again. Ramanayake said that he performed well in the Ordinary Level examination but not so well in the Advanced Level examination. As a result he decided to take some time and study and sit for the Advanced Level examination this year.
