Wellampitiya death toll rises

The death toll in the Wellampitiya accident last night has risen to four, the police media unit said this morning. A van heading towards Kaduwela collided with a bus and a lorry while attempting to overtake another vehicle resulting in the fatalities. The driver of the van and three others including two women were killed in the accident, the police media unit said. Police to arrest more people in Jaffna

The police are to carry out more arrests in Jaffna over allegations of having links with the LTTE while 37 people already arrested are to be produced in court and charged. TNA MP E.
