Two people shot dead in Hikkaduwa

Two people have been shot dead in the Thiranagama area in Hikkaduwa. The Police said that the gunmen had arrived on a motorcycle and carried out the shooting. The two victims had sustained serious injuries in the shooting incident and were admitted to the Karapitiya Hospital. Monkeypox detected for the first time in Sri Lanka

Monkeypox has been detected for the first time in Sri Lanka, the Ministry of Health said today. The infected person a 20-year-old Sri Lankan, had arrived from Dubai on 1st November.
