AG instructs Police to arrest former MP Sri Ranga

The Attorney General (AG) has instructed the Police to arrest former Parliamentarian J. Sri Ranga and five others over a fatal accident in 2011 in which a policemen was killed.

The Police Special Investigations Unit has been instructed to records statements from the suspects over the incident.

The incident in Settikulam on the afternoon of 30 March 2011 left Ranga?s bodyguard – a Police sergeant, dead.

At the time, police records said the sergeant had driven the vehicle, but it was later revealed that Ranga had been behind the wheel.
