Young talent to the limelight with Chokolaate CenterStage 2019

For the fourth consecutive year, Chokolaate Centerstage organized by the leading teen magazine, Chokolaate is back in full swing! The event will showcase the talents of many young solo singers, groups, beat boxers and even group beat boxers as they take center stage to compete for the coveted prize at the Bishops College Auditorium on the 20th of October 2019.

The show stopping solo category talent will comprise of Catherine Perera (21), Aksen Nanayakkara (16), Sadushi Pathirana (20), Vihanga Perera (18), Daniel Lakshman (18), Ashanya Premadasa (15), Asher Daniel (18), Vidara Kannagara (18), Tharusha Karunasekara (13) and Shaun Cooray (13).

Aside from the dazzling talent that will be put on display by the young talents that will make up the Solo category, we cannot overlook the performances by the Groups category and the Bands category as they are rumored to bring with them performances of a lifetime.

The Groups category will comprise of three groups this year. The group Deborah and Catherine will consist of Deborah Almeida (20) and solo category artist, Catherine Perera (21). The second group to take center stage will comprise of two female artists named, Sherlene Anthony (20) and Niseni Hewamallika (18). The Group category performances will conclude with a performance by a sister duo Vidara (18) and Disara Kannangara (17).

The Bands category with five bands this year will definitely bring on the heat. Gravity SL is one of the contenders consisting of five young men named, Raveen Sandul (19), Ashen Ranaweera (20), Praveen Gunawansa (20), Yasith Rashmina (19) and Nisal Sathsara (20).

The band titled, ‘Jammy’ will comprise of eight talented young men and women namely, Thishan Shanulka (20), Shenal Radeesha (20), Pehan Randipa (17), Siyom Sandeep (18), Siyumini Opayangi (14), Malintha Dilshan (19), Dinura Nimanulka (21) and M.A Shavinda Prasad (20).

The band ‘Nexus’ will comprise of members, Aaron Perera (18), Jason Harding (17), Aundre Speldewinde (22), and Shanell Denipitiya (17).

‘Minister’ is a seven member band that is also expected to take center stage. The group consists of members, Oniesh De Mel (20), Manuja Fernando (21), Sachin Chathuranga (20), Venusha De Saa (19), Dasheen Mendis (19, Pulasthi Abhishek (19) and Yoshitha Tharuka (19).

The band titled ‘Octavia’ will take the stage and their group will comprise of members, Dinuka Kathriarachchi (15), Dulan Thathsara (16), Yasas Weliwata (16), Adish Ediriweera (16), Senaru Rathnayake (17) and Rashmi Gunawardana (16).

In the beatboxing category, Nipun Fernando (19) and Ahmed Rifdhan (20) will face off in the beatbox battle, the newest category of Beatboxing Groups will also take the stage to showcase their show stopping performances. The first Beatboxing Group ‘Blaze’ is a five man effort. The names of these talented five young men are Lakshan Wijesooriya (20), Ahmed Rifdhan (20), Sashvinth Ravinath (20), Dahan Ranawana (20) and Avineash Amarnath.

The second group that will take the stage is, ‘Beatz’. The band will comprise of members, Nipun Fernando (19), Onel Sumanaweera (17) and Radil Kodipilli (17).
