CWC decides to back SLPP Presidential candidate

The Ceylon Workers? Congress (CWC) has decided to back Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) presidential candidate Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

The decision was reached at discussions held between the CWC leadership and SLPP National Organiser Basil Rajapaksa.

The CWC and the SLPP will sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) this week to cement their working agreement.

The CWC is the biggest political party representing the estate sector.

The party has in the past backed the United People?s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) and former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
