Gotabaya fails to attend multi-party debate

Former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa failed to attend a multi-party debate staged in Colombo today, which was also attended by the other two main Presidential candidates.

The March 12 Movement led by the People’s Action for Free and Fair Elections (PAFFREL) hosted the event at the Sugathadasa Stadium today to bring all the Presidential candidates onto one stage to respond to critical questions put forth by the masses regarding the future of the country.

United National Front Presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa and Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna Presidential candidate Anura Kumara Dissanayake took part in the debate.

However, Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Presidential candidate Gotabaya Rajapaksa did not attend.

Several independent candidates also took part in the debate.

  1. The only things that will stop Gota from becoming the next president will be his relatives and “ADVISORS”. Which might actually be a blessing for the country because it will get rid of all the “baggage” Gota will bring with him.
