Gota’s travel ban lifted

The Permanent High Court today (3) considering the motion filed by former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa on Tuesday (1) seeking permission to travel to Singapore to obtain medical treatment, lifted the travel ban and released his passport allowing him to travel overseas between 9-12 October.

The overseas travel ban was imposed on Gotabaya Rajapaksa over a case filed regarding the misappropriation of Rs. 33.9 million for the construction of the D.A. Rajapaksa Memorial and Museum.

The court is to take the matter for trial continuously from 15 October.

  1. Gota is going to S. pore to avoid arrest and not for any medical treatment. Any way I feel sorry for him.

  2. Disgusting. All politicians run to Singapore for dubious, questionable medical treatment, but they have no desire to improve our own ! This is o.k. for the rich. Utter contempt for our doctors and hospital services, but they promise the earth and heaven for Sri Lankans when the elections are on the horizon.
