Gota advised to avoid facing the media

Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Presidential candidate Gotabaya Rajapaksa has been advised to avoid facing the media.

Rajapaksa’s spokesman Dullas Alahapperuma said that the former Defence Secretary was avoiding the media based on legal advice.

He said that several cases have been filed against Rajapaksa locally in order to put pressure on him ahead of the Presidential election.

As a result his lawyers have advised him to stay away from the media for the moment.

Alahapperuma asserted that Rajapaksa is a media friendly person but is being forced to avoid the media as a result of the court cases.

The SLFP spokesman was responding to a question posed at a media conference today.

The United National Party has been questioning the reasons behind Rajapaksa’s unavailability to face the media at a press conference.

  1. Big Mistake! Get out there and tell the people your (Gota) vision for the country and the future. Questions about pending court cases can be politely declined.
