The Central Committee of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) failed to reach an agreement with regards to the Presidential election, when it convened today.
SLFP spokesman Weerakumara Dissanayake said that the Central Committee did not reach a final agreement and will meet again on 5th October.
The SLFP Central Committee met today under the chairmanship of President Maithripala Sirisena.
With the Presidential election just days away the SLFP has failed to reach a final decision on how it will face the polls.
The SLFP has been engaged in talks with the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna to work as an alliance at the Presidential election.
However both sides have failed to reach a consensus on the symbol.
